It has been so long since I posted anything; I knew the second I started a blog that I would struggle with consistency.  The symbolic internationalist inside me would say that I doomed myself from the beginning, to make me feel better, I'll just say it I was being a realist!

Kent and I are doing well.  I am nearly finished with my second to last semester and Kent has been enjoying his break, lucky guy!  Even for having the semester off Kent is somehow the busiest person I know.  He has entered several concerto competitions, became the lead teller at Wells Fargo, did a recording of a song, and is getting a lot of practicing done.  I hope I am never as busy as he is, but I do appreciate how hard he works for our family.

It kind of looks like she is trying to get his autograph

Besides all that boring stuff, Kent and I have found our new thing...Hunting!  We love hunting with his family and go as often as we can.  I am still working on getting my hunting license so for now I just tag along and hope everyone else gets something.  But next year, I will be the mighty hunter slaying beasts left and right!!!  For now it is just nice to have something to go do with my husband!

Us after an exciting morning of hunting
On a whim, my long locks of hair have been cut down to nothing.  After five years of growing it out, I decided I needed a change.  I was walking home from a tour of the Rexburg jail and passes a salon, it was hot, and I had some belated graduation money in my pocket; I walked in and said "chop it off".  Poor Kent was the reason I grew my hair out in the first place and he came home to find me looking like a sheared sheep!  Since then, it has gone from short to ultra short!

Kent and I just found out that we have to move again.  BYUI bought our apartments and plan on knocking them down SO it's onward and upward!  We have found a place to live (hopefully!  We will find out this week).  This place is being converted from a hotel into married student housing.  I had seen this place a little while back and got a feeling that we were should live there if we had to move.  When I told Kent about it, he wasn't nearly as excited as I was and told me "If we HAVE to move, we can live there".  Little did he know that it was actually going to happen!

I'm not going to lie, it's the pool that I am most excited about!

It's a little small but it will work!
We have to be out of our apartment on December 31 so hopefully, we will be able to just move right in to this new apartment.  For now we will keep enjoying our lovely spacious apartment and look forward to living in the apartment with a pool!

We drove until the map turned blue

Ok- so we flew to California but then drove a couple miles to the blue on the map, but I always wanted to say that; I couldn't because Rigby Lake just isn't cool enough!

Kent and I were heading over to Mom and Dad Grover's house to watch Cal and Lily while they finished packing for their flight back to Boston.  We got a call from Dennis telling us that they were already at the airport and had forgotten a bag and asked us to bring it to them.  Kent and I rushed to the airport.  We got out of the car and started to rush in.  Kent told me to hold on and then told me that they alread left.  He said that we were going to California!

Several hours later we were there!  Kent had planned out the whole trip!  I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband.  We had such a fun time celebrating our one year anniversery.

A Proud Aunt and Uncle

In Sociology we are learning about the ways that people find their worth.  One way that people find values in themselves is through the roles that they play.  I can really identify with this theory lately.  Nothing makes me happier than playing with my nieces and nephews.  This is blog post is me bragging about the wonderful kids in our lives!!!!

Our New Castle take 2

This is the "After" part of our new apartment posts!  We were so thankful to finally get moved in!  A big thank you goes out to Dad, Jess, Tyler, Dennis, Seth, and especially Mom for helping us move!  It made the process way less miserable! Here is a walk-through view of our lovely apartment.

Kent and I were talking about how cool it would be to own a house with steps...now we have about 20 of them!!!
I love having a kitchen! I've cooked almost every night that we've lived here
I LOVE the shelf for my cookbooks!
Notice how the bed slopes; Kent sleeps with 100 blankets and I sleep with 1

Living Room
I love the shelves built in to the wall
The living room is actually another bedroom so I put the bookcases and TV in the closet and it looks like that how it was supposed to be!
Our lil bathroom
We also have the furnace room for the building and it has a washer and dryer in it...this is the more creepy part of our apartment!

Notice the old laundry chute
The furnace room is also know as Kent's closet (we also keep my church & winter clothes in the pantry!  There's not a lot of hanger space here!)
Our apartment really feels like home and we are thankful to be living in such an awesome place!  Ok, the BEST story of our new place;
Our first night here we were a little creep-ed out about the place and we found this picture in one of the cupboards.  We decided that she was tragically murdered and buried in the laundry chute...it makes for a good ghost story!

I apologize if this happens to belong to any of you...

Another semester down...

Kent and I just completed another semester at BYU-I.  I only have three semesters left while poor Kent has just now become a sophomore with a whopping 6 semesters to go!  College as a married couple is harder than I thought!  Especially when Kent is a music major AND when we are cramming all our math classes into one semester!  I took General Math, Social Statistics, and Money Management.  I absolutely love the idea that I will never have to take another math class again!

Kent is just awesome!  Not only did he manage to work 20 hours, practice 18 hours a week, take a full load of credits, and finish his homework BUT he also earned a 4.0!  He really has grown in his music this semester!  I enjoy going to all his concerts and am very thankful that I love Jazz; it is such a large part of our lives.

Next week we are moving in to our new apartment (which looks exactly like the pictures).  We are so excited to have our own place again, especially one that is so close to the school.  I am excited to fix it up and make it cute!

The day after we move in, we are headed off to Bozeman to visit my Grandparents!  We are looking forward to getting out of Idaho and having fun!  I have always loved Bozeman and would just love to live there someday!  I will post some pictures as soon as I get on my computer!!!

We went to the Museum of the Rockies...they both have big heads!
Museum-ed out!

Our New Castle

Finding the perfect housing has seemed like a search of desperation for Kent and I.  We have spent the last couple months trying to figure out where in the world we were going to live.  We are very picky about our home...our requirements; enough room to walk, stand, and sit, some sort of heat, a stove, a bathroom, and under $500 a month.  We happened to get lucky enough to find exactly what we wanted!

Our new place is culturally diverse, it is called Tenda Rossa.  We are expecting fiestas every night.  This lovely apartment offers all these wonders with several additions, a washer and dryer and (drum roll please....) a dishwasher!!!!  I never realized the importance of dishwashers but in our nearly seven months of marriage we have yet to experience anything but hand washing our dishes.  Needless to say, we are excited to just push that button and BAM the dishes are clean!

Another lovely feature of our soon to be new home is that it is right across the street from the Snow building!  That is the music building and Kent practically lives there.  When I say right across the street, I mean RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET!

The building on the right with the red Jeep-looking thing in front is our new apartment and the doors on the building to the left are where I pick up and drop off Kent every day! Just ignore the marker...I don't know how to get rid of it!

Finding this place was the biggest blessing...I had never paid attention to this place before.  One day while dropping Kent off, I happened to glance its direction.  I immediately called the number.  We had applied to an apartment with this agency before so they already had an approved application along with the application fee on file.  It had just gone onto the market that day and I was the first person to call on it.  It was ours!

Here are some pictures...we haven't been inside yet so you know as much as we do! This is the "Before" section of the Before and After pictures.

The lap of luxury
Living room, maybe!? It's just a one bedroom...I don't know!
Our bed is blue too...it's meant to be!
A bathroom...no kidding!

The next day they called me back and told me that they did not actually have an application from us and they had someone else sign up for it.  just was just mad and gave up.  Kent is my hero, he jumped into action and pulled up our bank statements, made a few phone calls, and made them give the apartment back to us!

We are excited even though it won't be until the middle of April that we get to move in.  In the meantime, we are blessed enough to be staying with Grandma and Grandpa Hendricks.
